The Perfect Christmas Wishlist: Editorial Edition

18 Dec 2024

Christmas is almost here — most of us have already planned our vacations, wrapped up the majority of our deadlines, and shared photos of our Christmas trees in the work chats. The topic of gifts is also coming up more often — just a small piece of advice: before the most magical night of the year, it is a good idea to drop at least a few hints to our loved ones about what we are hoping to receive this year.
Our team decided to create their own ideal wishlist — a list of gifts they would love to receive for the upcoming holidays! Hopefully, their friends and family will read this article before heading to the mall.

Sophie She

Senior Editor

Sophie knows jingle bells when they ring. Here is what she dreams of:

"My wish for 2025 is a relaxing time at home with lots and lots of ice cream, furry pyjamas and the proper skin care routine. What else do you need on a lazy Sunday, right?

  • Ninga ice cream maker — it seems to be a bomb of Instagram for the past couple of months and trying to keep a healthy diet in Dubai has been a game changer for me in terms of my wellness and thus I really want to have a proper ice cream making machine, because I love sweets, but I cannot eat all of them.
  • Red light mask — is just great, when you live somewhere sunny, beating those post acne scars.
  • Sleeper pyjama set — it is an amazing Ukrainian brand that I have been following for ages now. Relaxed chic is there core and I cannot imagine anything more stylish than a pyjamas by Sleeper."

Saša Ovčinnikov

SMM Editor

Saša’s wishlist has a clear work-from-home vibe — how else can you explain why everything on the list is about making the surroundings even more beautiful? Comfort and elegance are the two key themes that shine through in their picks.

What is waiting for Saša next year? Can't say for sure, but probably this:

  • Cozy knit chair (which is basically a midcentury desing icon by Pierre Jeanneret) — and plenty of Instagram posts made from it.
  • Pipe frame — for the coffee machine and more coffee breaks thanks to its new look.
  • Ombré stoneware plates — and even more delicious breakfasts served on them.

Sofia Brontvein

Publisher

It has been a tough year for Sofia, and her biggest dream is a week free of work notifications, deadlines, and unresolved issues. That is why her wishlist is all about intangible joys and simple pleasures.

  • 12 hours of sleep — to recover her mind and body after endless late nights and work-related stress.
  • Switching off the phone — ideally, she would not receive any disturbing messages throughout the day. But since that is hard to guarantee, at least putting her phone on silent feels like a safer bet.
  • PlayStation 5 — after a good night’s sleep and a peaceful, phone-free day, her dream is to spend an entire day gaming on a PlayStation 5. The only one allowed to join is her fluffy dog, Kenny.

Kito Jempere

Creative Director

Kito’s style is all about chic simplicity (and not just with his gifts). All three items are so stylish, so who knows, maybe one of the gifts he receives next year will end up being part of the photo of his new album?

  • Kith becker coat — Maybe it is because there are still a few cold, snowy days ahead in St. Petersburg, or maybe it is because it fits him perfectly. Either way, the style of this coat perfectly reflects Kito’s vibe — crazy (in a good way) and eye-catching!
  • Pilot suitcase — The whole Sandy Times team is hoping this means he will be flying to Dubai more often! But for him, it is probably more about vacations with his family.
  • Vintage watches — To make sure he does not miss any important calls next year.

Dara Morgan

Chief Editor

For Dara it is all about the constant search for balance between I am drinking matcha latte lifestyle and party animal. That is how she commented her wishlist:

"I have not quite settled on my New Year’s resolutions yet, but a bit of self-care feels like a solid starting point.

  • Whoop band — At the top of my — honestly, quite long — wishlist sits the Whoop band. Fingers crossed it helps me fix my dreadful sleep routine, and I must say, it looks way better than most smart watches.
  • Foreo microcurrent device — Naturally, I am leaving plenty of room in the calendar for party nights, and the Foreo microcurrent device promises to tackle the inevitable morning puffiness.
  • Saint Laurent sunglasses — Should it fail to keep me fresh after all the dancing and cocktails, I will be relying on a sleek pair of Saint Laurent sunglasses to conceal the damage and serve me well for the walk of shame. As a bonus, they will add just the right touch of chic when I finally make it to Europe. I have not planned a thing for that trip yet, but one must start somewhere, mustn't they?"

Barbara Yakimchuk

Junior Editor

My friends already got my birthday wishlist, so anything I didn’t receive from it made its way onto my Christmas one! I did get a few comments about being a “shopaholic,” but this is the tough reality. So, here is my top three:

  • The Attico mules — I have been looking for a pair of heels that are both comfortable and stylish. Perfect for a chic evening look (whether it is a dress or jeans).
  • Sport jumpsuit — I have realised that the more you love sportswear, the higher the chances of actually using it! This will add to my collection for cardio at the gym and Saturday Pilates with my friend.
  • Ami Paris jumper — This New Year I will be celebrating in South Africa and just in case it is chilly, the jumper will be perfect. And if not... it is just really stylish!

And while I am at it, I would also like to say (for anyone who can relate) — visiting Japan next year would be amazing too...

Ariza Danielian

Brand Director

Ariza’s wishlist features the most aesthetic pieces, so it seems we would all be happy to add her items to our own wishlists!

  • Marni earrings — Perfect for adding sparkle to any look. I would not be surprised if some stylists steal this idea from the selection and incorporate it into their New Year’s outfits.
  • Cocktail glass set — Engraved champagne glasses were the trend of the past year! It is time to introduce new trends – these incredibly elegant glasses will definitely become the highlight of any home gathering.
  • JW Anderson bag — No comments needed — a new bag is something we all need from time to time.

Alina Antonova

Art Director

Alina’s wishlist is a perfect designer’s set — everything you could need to make sure that next year all designs are delivered even faster (though she is already breaking records!) and skills continue to improve.

  • Adobe All Apps subscription — editing photos for Instagram posts and articles is the most common request Alina gets throughout the year (personally, I ask for it at least three times a week). It is an easy-to-use app with a clear interface, perfect for streamlining workflow.
  • Kitchen Aid espresso machine — probably a typical wishlist item for any designer!
  • Apple Pencil Pro — A tool for the most creative minds!
