The Venice Biennale is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the art world, not just because it gathers all brilliant, talented, and incredible artists but also because you always need to be prepared to witness something special. Something that will captivate your imagination and leave you eager to share with everyone. One noteworthy highlight was the unveiling of the off-site project AKNEYE Phygital Space by ftNFT that merges sculpture with NFTs and is displayed at the Ramo de la Tana, 2124a in Venice, adjacent to the Arsenale venue.
What is it?
AKNEYE Phygital Space is an immersive digital realm that beckons visitors to delve into its ever-expanding collection of digital AKNEYE sculptures showcased on LED screens. Through November, visitors can witness artists crafting unique pieces of art on-site, which are subsequently transformed into NFTs.
Curated by Anastasia Dawson, the space serves more than just an installation; it is a novel platform for artistic exploration and collaboration.
Vigen Badalyan, founder of AKNEYE, states that "Phygital Spaces is not just any digital space; it is a vision of the future of art, where boundaries are blurred, and new connections are formed between the artist, the observer, and the medium."
Who are the artists?
The AKNEYE Phygital Space participants include Armenian and international artists from various backgrounds. Together, they have been crafting on AKNEYE's eye sculptures, seamlessly merging different artistic traditions and perspectives. Through this initiative, AKNEYE harmonises the physical aspects of traditional sculpture with the virtual dimensions of NFTs.
The featured artists at the AKNEYE Phygital Space: Raffi Yedalian, Elene Metreveli, Sarko Meené, Natalya Gudovich, Stephany Sanossian, Mako Lomadze, Anahit Margaryan, Roman Reznitsky, Alpha Odh, Satenik Ghulijanyan, Larry Amponsah, Lusine Ginosyan, Anna Chekh, Ashot Yan, Miroslava Romanova, Ellen Demirian, Lokher, Edmon Harikyan, Gareggin Harutyunyan, Rafayel Nersesyan, Lidia Russkova-Hasaya.

Additionally, every purchaser of an AKNEYE NFT will receive an annual cashback equivalent to 2.44% of the NFT's value in FTN tokens.
