Did you know there is a whole category of interactive episodes and series on Netflix? Yes, these movies where you are the one controlling the narrative. To find them, don’t search on Netflix, but google “interactive TV shows on Netflix”, and the right link for your region will pop up.
How do interactive titles on Netflix work?
The main difference between the regular Netflix player and the interactive one is that the progress bar is removed to allow for user choices.
If you remember older YouTube videos where you could choose how the story went, there were two ways to do it: one method (which Netflix doesn’t use) was to give you two links at the end of the video, each leading to a new video based on your choice. What Netflix does is it gives you choices that jump to specific moments in the video. On some devices, you can actually see how this works. A time bar appears in the top right corner, and when you make a choice, the video can skip to different parts of the story.
Does this work on all devices?
Nope, not all devices support interactive titles. For example, Chromecasts and Apple TV don't support them. You can check the full list of supported devices here.
What is on the menu?
