Rijal Almaa Heritage Village
This is why we are recommending Aseer province in the first place. This is the Switzerland we mentioned earlier. Rijal Almaa is a historic village featuring traditional stone houses and fascinating museums. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site that provides a deep connection to the region’s history and architecture.
The town is also famous for the Flower Men, members of the Qahtan tribe who are recognised by their floral headbands. While visiting, be sure to explore the local apiary, home to the region's prized honey. And after exploring the town, you can take a three-kilometre cable car ride up to Soudah Mountain for stunning views.
This cultural village truly captures the artistic essence of Asir. At its heart lies a mosque adorned with impressive calligraphy graffiti, surrounded by a cluster of intimate art galleries showcasing the works of local and regional artists and photographers. Flanking the mosque are two small museums, while behind it, you will find a grassy stage for entertainment alongside a cosy coffee shop. Almuftaha Village is a vibrant hub for local creativity, offering a unique experience in the region and making it an ideal spot for a leisurely afternoon.
