10 Dec 2024
Even with the sun shining brightly outside, many of us are already in full “jingle bells" mode. Wherever you are, December is always the time for Christmas movies, twinkling lights in the windows, steaming cups of hot cocoa (in the UAE, just for the vibe), and of course, decorations.
And what is Christmas without a tree? The one that not only pleases the eye during the whole festive season but also fills your home with that special holiday scent!
Here are some options for fresh Christmas trees and tree compositions, depending to your taste and budget, to ensure you are ready for the celebrations:
Christmas compositions and wreaths
If your space does not allow to keep a large tree but you still want to capture that festive mood, consider wreaths or Christmas compositions made from fresh fir – they are a perfect way to add a touch of Christmas magic to your home without taking up too much room.
Gosha Flowers
Beautiful fir arrangements with pinecones and Christmas decorations from Gosha Flowers are available in various colours to suit any interior. The best part? You can even customise the size! These also make great gifts — just ask for gift wrapping and a notecard to make it extra special.
The Flower Society
The Flower Society offers gorgeous fir compositions, but with a small twist — many include Christmas flowers for a unique look. Their selection features a wide range of colours, from natural tones to bold and creative designs. A great choice if you are after something a little different.
Friends for Flowers
A nice spot, also offering Christmas compositions, many of which include candles. So, if candles are part of your New Year’s vibe, this is an excellent option! Friends for Flowers also offer mini Christmas trees (already decorated) — you can keep one on your office desk to boost your Christmas mood even at work.
Bliss Flower Boutique
This place has recently launched a limited Christmas edition, and some items are already sold out (but they promised to restock soon). I am personally obsessed with their Christmas wreaths — they use fewer fir branches than others, so your home will not have that classic Christmas tree smell, but Bliss Flower Boutique is definitely a treat for the eyes!
Christmas trees
If you have enough space at home for a Christmas tree and want to try your hand at decorating, this part is for you.
Dubai Garden Centre
This place is a fantastic spot for Christmas trees! They have both fresh and artificial options, plus plenty of decorations to choose from. The fresh trees are brought straight from Denmark and are just over two metres tall! Another bonus — all trees have soft needles, which is great if you have pets — your cats and dogs won't get hurt trying to chew on your Christmas tree.
Location: Dubai Garden Centre, 739 Sheikh Zayed Road
Bloom Box Christmas Tree
The Christmas trees here are also imported from Denmark. You can choose from three sizes: medium (150–175 cm), large (175–200 cm), and huge (200–240 cm).
This place guarantees the tree will stay fresh until January — at least one month! Plus, they deliver and set it up for you — all you need to do is choose the size and schedule the delivery.
IKEA
At IKEA, you will find both artificial and real trees — fresh ones are quite small (about a metre tall), while the artificial ones come in literally any size.
The best part? You can also pick up decorations — IKEA has garlands, lights, and baubles — everything you might need. They also have mini baubles for smaller trees, which look really neat (I took some for our).
Location: IKEA Dubai Festival City
Spinneys
Right by the entrance, you will find trees nearly two metres tall! To be honest, Spinneys on Al Wasl Road is a hidden gem when it comes to flowers and plants — they are always incredibly fresh, with a huge variety. The prices are also quite good.
Location: Al Wasl Rd, Al Safa 2
Christmas Trees UAE
This pleas offers fresh trees starting from 1.5 metres and going up to nearly 3 metres, imported straight from Canada. You can either go and pick out your tree in person or have it delivered to your home.
Location: Oleander Jumeirah Beach Road / Oleander Nursery in Warsan
Recycling locations
There are plenty of places in the UAE where you can recycle plastic and metal, but not many that recycle natural plants. This means that after the holidays, many Christmas trees end up in the bin. However, for several years now, some places have been supporting recycling initiatives for real Christmas trees. These include:
- Ace Hardware branch at Dubai Festival Plaza or Dubai Festival City
- Spinneys
- Waitrose
So, before throwing away your tree, make sure to check their social media for details on locations and collection dates! Let us take care of the place where we live.
