Your Destination For Eid Break: Paris

7 Apr 2024

Tickets

DXB is indeed an international port for the world, thus we have endless options on the flights. While, if you want to hack the best money-time value of the tickets, we would recommend going with AirFrance, as they are somewhat pricey, but the food on board is great and they are the fastest option and cheaper than others. Look how cool their safety instructions are! But a tip for the traveller — don’t use the website, as it will load for hours rather download their app and enjoy a seamless experience! Find the AppStore link here and Google Play here. Also, they have a 12 kg cabin luggage allowance, so you can save some pesos for extra croissants.

Housing

This one is tricky, as indeed, the whole experience is dependent on where you live in the city.
The rule of thumb is that 1-8 arrays are great and safe. But my recommendation would be to stay in the 11th array as it’s the perfect synthesis of lively Parisian life with local boulangeries, cafes, and bars, as well as it’s in the perfect distancing from the centre for a comfortable commute via public transport and walking!

Museums

So, depending on your timing, obviously, museums in Paris are a must. But! To save you some time and nerves it is highly recommended to buy your tickets in advance. And! If they have a priority pass (like in Centre de Pompidou) or fast lane tickets — choose those to skip all the possible lines. Why extra expenses? Because although it is absolutely counter-intuitive, even if you purchase tickets with time slots, you will still end up in line. The queue will move rapidly, but this still will be a queue. And if you’re a youngster — don’t forget about the 18–25 y.o. discount, so you could enjoy the world’s greatest art for a pleasurable price!

Walking Tour

As we don’t have much time during our brief Eid break, this walking tour will back you up, covering the most important sights of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Arc de Triomphe. Enjoy walking along the banks of the Seine, whose architectural ensemble is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
This will be good approximately for a day, excluding actual visiting of places that we in the list, as you’ll need a separate day for Louvre for sure.
So our tour will include:
A. Station RER C — Champ de Mars — Quai Jacques Chirac
B. Eiffel Tower
C. École Militaire
D. Invalides Palace
E. Alexander III Bridge
F. Notre Dame Cathedral
G. Louvre and Tuileries Gardens
H. Place Vendome
I. Arc de Triomphe
J. Trocadero.

Drinks and Bites

Of course, we all say we are here for the arts. But deep down in our souls you and I know that Paris is about food in the first place.
It is an absolute must to try pain au chocolat, regular croissant, and macarons in any boulangerie (eng. bakery). And try to do that in the morning, as they close at 6 pm and usually, all bakeries are empty by that point!
Some of the special recommendations where to eat and enjoy life:
Chez Janou — Go for the entrecote, liver and duck; your taste buds will thank you. If dining — book in advance, as they are usually packed!
Le Bon Georges — Lovely Parisian bistro with authentic vibes!
Septime La Cave — Amazing wine selection and fabulous interiors.
Les Chartrons — Yes to anything here.
228 Litres — Non-classical classical food in Montmartre. Great food and wine!
