Guess a place where every corner whispers tales of faraway lands, where the aroma of exotic spices fills the air, and where the vibrant tapestry of global flavours unfolds before your eyes. Welcome to Global Village Dubai, a kaleidoscope of cultures and cuisines that promises an unforgettable culinary adventure.
Prepare to embark on a delicious exploration, where you can savour the best global cuisine under one expansive roof. From age-old traditions to the latest culinary trends, Global Village Restaurants offer a diverse menu that will tantalise even the most discerning palate.
But with hundreds of food stalls, where do you even begin? Fear not, because The Sandy Times has the inside scoop on some must-try stalls.
Happiness Street in Global Village Dubai
Head straight to Happiness Street — it is the epicentre of viral food trends. You HAVE to try Bang Burger. Undoubtedly, their Wagyu burgers on those soft brioche buns? Pure heaven. And while you are there, don't miss Croffee. Their croissant-ice cream fusion is next level. Think pistachio kunafa, lotus, and cheesecake that are drool-worthy.
Craving seafood? Junior Seafood's Dynamite Shrimp is a classic for a reason. Those plump, juicy shrimp coated in that spicy sauce? Get ready for an explosion of flavour. If you are a burger enthusiast, devour Flat Burger's smashed burgers. That Truffle Burger, though? Forget about it.
Now, for something a little different, check out Indo-yo. They put a seriously creative spin on Indomie noodles. Carbonara Indomie? Warq Enab Indomie? Rest assured, it is genius.
And to cool down, sample a Mishmish & Toot cooler. The smoked ice cubes add a unique touch that is visually stunning and incredibly refreshing.
Railway market stalls
Let us talk about desserts! You can't leave Global Village Dubai without indulging your sweet tooth. First up, head to the Railway Market, inspired by Thailand's iconic Umbrella Market. There, you have to taste Cocomango's Mango Sticky Rice. This classic Thai dessert is pure magic — sweet, ripe mangoes with creamy sticky rice. It is the perfect balance of flavours.
While you are in the Thailand Pavilion for mango treats, get the Mango Soft Serve. Topped with fresh mango chunks, it is a refreshing and tasty treat that you will have coming back for more. Also, grab a Humm Crumbs milk cake. These are Instagram-famous for a reason — flavours like crème brûlée and chocolate milk are pure indulgence.
And if you are looking for something quick and easy, buy a Tunisian Bambaloni Doughnut. These sweet, hot treats are perfect for snacking on as you wander the bustling market.
Floating market at Global Village Dubai
Start with Thai Grilled Mussels. You can choose between a zesty lemon-basil sauce or a fiery tom-yum sauce. Craving something a bit different? The Korean Teokbokki will be a good option. Also, the Chewy rice cakes and fish cakes simmered in a comforting tomato sauce. For the freshest batch, move to the stall at the very end.
Of course, no visit to the Floating Market is complete without indulging in some classic Asian dishes. The Pad Thai is a must — stir-fried noodles with tamarind sauce, shrimp, and peanuts. And don't forget the Satay Skewers. Grilled meats marinated in rich spices and served with a mouthwatering peanut sauce.
Seafood lovers will be in heaven here. Freshly grilled prawns, calamari, and fish wrapped in banana leave, it is a seafood feast.
The Floating Market is the perfect spot for adventurous foodies seeking authentic Asian flavours. Plus, its serene waterside atmosphere adds a touch of magic to your dining experience.
Pro tip: Reserve a table early. You won't want to miss the stunning light and sound shows on the lake while you enjoy your delicious meal.
Fiesta Street: Food lover's heaven
Fiesta Street at Global Village Dubai, a vibrant food zone, is unmissable for any food lover. Double-storey kiosks, colourful setups, and the smell of scrumptious street food filling the air is an amazing experience. Enjoy the Roasted Chicken Sandwiches. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with zesty sauces. They are a game-changer.
If you want something a bit more comforting, the Creamy Risotto is a soul food. It is rich, cheesy, and pure Italian goodness. And for a sweet treat, eat some Baklava. This flaky pastry drenched in honey is a classic Middle Eastern dessert that will satisfy any dessert lover.
Remember to experiment with Lets Puff for delicious puff pastries, Potato Bowl for its unique beef and potato dish served in a coconut shell, and Don Bambaloni for its huge Libyan and Tunisian doughnuts.
Fiesta Street is the perfect spot for a group outing. The energetic vibe is contagious, and with so many affordable options, you can easily sample multiple dishes without breaking the bank.
Pro tip: Visit during the evening hours. The fairy lights create a supernatural glow, making your dining experience even more special.
Hidden gems and must-tries: Beyond the hype at Global Village Dubai
Let's explore some of the lesser-known but truly appetising stalls at Global Village. Remember, this place is huge, so give yourself plenty of time to explore. And don't forget that Global Village Dubai generally operates from 4 pm to 12 am from Sundays to Wednesdays and 4 pm to 1 am from Thursdays to Saturdays.
Wander over to the Japanese Bakery near the Floating Market. Their Mochi Ice Cream is the perfect palate cleanser. Appreciate the skillful making of Takoyaki making. These custardy octopus balls are a hearty meal. (tip: Ask for lighter toppings)
Next, get a taste of the region. Head back towards the Floating Market and past the Gate of the World to the Pakistan Pavilion. Don't miss the Bun Kebabs — chicken and chana daal with a spicy kick. Wash it down with some Claypot Chai to recharge yourself.
The Iran Pavilion is one of the most picturesque spots in the whole park, with artisans making sweets right before your eyes. Grab some Crispy Kaak rolled in tahini and honey, and try the Sohan — buttery pistachio brittle. While you are there, set off to shop 63 — their fresh pistachio butter is to die for.
Right next to Iran, you will find an Omani Halwa stall. Look for the one with only an Arabic sign. Their Halwa, made with brown sugar and cashews, is incredible. Pair it with authentic Arabic coffee (gahwa) for the ultimate experience.
Now, visit the Palestine Pavilion. As you enter, make a beeline for the first stall on the right. Their Za'atar Jabali is a game-changer — a wild za'atar mix with grilled olives, olive oil, and Nabulsi cheese. You will be obsessed.
Near the main stage, you will find Zool Mashawi (Sudan). Their Agashe — spicy lamb strips — are a satisfying food for spice lovers. And Don't overlook the Suya — juicy lamb chops served with fries and pita.
Finally, go to the Syria Pavilion in the central area. Their Harraq Osba'o — dumplings in lentils with tamarind and pomegranate, topped with fried onions and pita — is a unique and flavourful dish.
This is just a taste of the incredible culinary experiences waiting for you at Global Village Dubai. So keep exploring, and enjoy the adventure!
