Helipad: The Name and Concept

The name Helipad is quite literal — it is a cosy and stylish restaurant located right on a helicopter landing pad. At first, my idea was that the venue would embrace the future, ready to welcome guests arriving by flying taxis. The truth? Not quite — but it is still a fun idea. The real reason behind the location is the view. Helipad offers one of the best sunsets in Dubai. Arrive between 5 and 6 pm, and you will witness the sun dips below the horizon (or hiding behind the Burj Khalifa).

Helipad is an extension of the renowned Frozen Cherry in Lebanon — a prime sunset destination perched atop a mountain, offering panoramic views over the Zaarour Mountains. So the team was not thinking about the concept for a long time – it was quite simple: to recreate the magic of Frozen Cherry in Dubai.

After countless considerations, the team found the perfect spot — a real helipad with an unbeatable view of the Burj Khalifa, right where the sun sets behind it. And just like that, the name was born — simple, spot-on, and impossible to miss!

If you are looking for a peaceful yet charming spot with a stunning view and delicious food to unwind after a long day at work, Helipad has you covered.

I would recommend arriving hungry! Why? Because it is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to one of their legendary burgers — a team’s favourite and one of their all-time bestsellers. If burgers are not your thing and you are after something a little different, their Mediterranean and Lebanese dishes are well worth trying — not only because they are packed with flavour, but guaranteed because they 100% will be the stars of your Instagram.

For those watching their calorie intake, do nor worry — the menu includes lighter options that are just as delicious and completely guilt-free. I woud go for the salmon bowl, burrata salad, or lobster roll — fresh, satisfying, and full of flavour. And, of course, no visit is complete without trying their signature drinks. Need another reason to stop by after a busy day? Here is one — Happy Hour! Running Monday to Friday from 5 to 9 pm, it is the perfect way to wind down with a great drink in hand.

What Is Coming Up Next?

Starting this weekend, Helipad is launching a brand-new concept — Hot Mess Sunsets, a monthly event featuring a big act. Kicking things off this week, we have Saliah, a talented DJ with worldwide tours lined up for the coming year.

Mark your calendars for Crowd Test on 15th February, followed by the legendary Traumer the next week on 22nd, in collaboration with Somewhere. And that is not all — there are plenty of surprises lined up for March and April, which will be revealed one by one on the official Instagram.
