Before The Heat Comes: Must-Visit Outdoor Dining Spots

2 Apr 2025

The pleasant, breezy days are coming to an end. However, it is still lovely to enjoy an evening by the water or have a cup of morning coffee on a terrace. With at least a few weeks before the heat completely takes over, there are still several outdoor dining spots that are real must-visits. No matter what your vibe is — whether you are dressing up for a night at a fancy outdoor restaurant or hiding under the leaves in your pyjamas — we have got you covered. Below is a list of the must-visit spots.

Casual cafés for the perfect morning

A lovely spot with the charm of a French café, where you can sit back and enjoy watching seagulls glide around passing boats and yachts. Along with its great vibe, they serve a wonderful Arabic breakfast that’s perfect for sharing. For a sweet treat Cherry Browny.
This cosy venue sits right by the water, offering shade under red umbrellas. The best part? After finishing your lunch, you can head straight to the dock and try wakesurfing — the perfect way to burn off those calories and refresh yourself!
Apricot is the ultimate escape from the city's hustle — ironically, right in the heart of it. Nestled in one of Downtown’s quietest and most charming low-rise corners, it feels like a hidden oasis. The spot boasts a semi-enclosed terrace, so when the weather gets too hot, you can move to the shaded space and still enjoy a few more weeks of sunny days, all while staying cool with the AC (hello, vitamin D!).
I would recommend starting your long-awaited weekend with a non-alcoholic Apricot Bellini and a Matcha Bowl.
A little piece of Bali right near Jumeirah Beach, Single Fin offers an incredible terrace, relaxing vibe, and some of the best bowls in the city.
Many of us stumble upon it while heading to the surf shop (it is actually in the same place). And after that, the only thought on your mind is: fingers crossed the waves won’t show up, giving you the perfect excuse to stay and enjoy your chocolate waffles or Tokushima Tatar. This is one of those spots you find by accident — and then never want to leave. And if you are lucky enough, you might even catch a wave afterwards.
This is the place that was all the hype throughout the winter (we tried to get a seat there literally three times). But trust me, it is worth the long wait and waking up 30 minutes earlier to get there before the queue forms. With the perfect view of Dubai, plenty of greenery around you, blue matcha, and mouth-watering sandwiches — sometimes, that is all you need. It is a spot where no one is in a rush, everyone forgets about their deadlines, and for at least an hour or so, you feel as relaxed as a cat.

Fancy spots for breezy evening

Somewhere, Dubai Mall
Somewhere is a chain of restaurants with locations in several areas across Dubai — including Dubai Mall, Al Wasl, and Creek, with the Dubai Mall being my favourite (primarily because of the view). The restaurant offers an incredible view, an authentic Arabic atmosphere, and delicious hummus with kebab. It is the perfect spot for both a family reunion or a romantic dinner. Another great feature is the friendly staff, always ready to answer any questions (ours even stayed with us for at least 10 minutes!).
This is a three-level spot with terraces on two of the levels — offering pure Arabic vibes, minimalist design, and perfect desserts. The bonus in the evening? Live music played on local Arabic instruments. As for the food, the place offers all the flavours of Arabic cuisine with a touch of international flair in the desserts. I would recommend trying the Beef Shawarma Rice (available only at Savva) — you won’t regret it!
This premium restaurant, right by the beach, is the perfect spot to enjoy a Dubai sunset with a refreshing drink in hand. Recently added to the MICHELIN Guide in 2024, it is a must-visit. If you are looking for a more private dining experience, this place is ideal — each guest is seated in their own separate terrace, so you can enjoy your meal without interruptions. As for the food, the pasta with truffle is literally insane. And for those with a sweet tooth, do not miss the Pain Perdu.
This venue has just opened but has already captured the hearts of many. With the attentive eye of the restaurant's founder, every dish is a true masterpiece. The restaurant boasts a stunning veranda-style balcony, making it a perfect spot even both for April and May — it remains cool inside thanks to the AC, yet feels warm and inviting with the open balcony, like something straight out of a Romeo and Juliet movie.
And one more thing — their perfectly cooked Nicaraguan Skirt Steak Platter is on another level of pleasure.
