Tips For Fitting All Your Skincare Essentials Into a Cabin Suitcase

2 Jun 2024

We have already provided you with a list of holiday essentials, which you can read here. But how should you pack it all? We all know, that packing for holidays can be very challenging, especially when you are limited by a cabin suitcase. The lack of space and strict airline regulations related to liquids make bringing your complete skincare set a story of its own, causing a headache or forcing you to compromise on your beauty routine. However, all these troubles can be avoided. Check out the newest edition of our holiday guide to solve the puzzle and enjoy your vacation to the fullest without sacrificing your personal care rituals.

Less is more

With cabin-sized luggage, some things have to be cut back, so think of products you can survive without for a week or two. Remember your previous experience when you brought a vanity case full of eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks to the beach getaway and ended up using neither of them? This time try to evaluate your choices critically. Leave behind everything that you aren’t going to use daily and make a list of the main essentials. It might be a good idea to allow your skin to take some days off and rest, too, so consider lightening up your 100-step routine and taking a break from the makeup.

Size down

Even though normally you are allowed to bring on board liquids up to 100ml each, you don’t necessarily need that much. Buy travel-sized versions of your favorites or fill small toiletry bottles using full-sized products that you already have. Bear in mind your usual consumption: take smaller packages for facials and bigger ones for body and hair care.
Environmentally and financially-friendly tip: search for brands that sell refills for their formulas — for example, Haan.

Grab multipurpose products

Many products can easily multitask, so why not use these working horses to save precious space? Go for a face cream with SPF, a wash that can be used for both body and hair, and don’t forget about aloe Vera gel, which makes the perfect light moisturiser for your face and body while curing sunburns.

Choose hard formulas

It is so annoying to open your suitcase and find out that something leaked out, ruining both your stuff and mood. Gladly, such an inconvenience can be prevented by replacing your regular products with bar-formulated ones. No more floods and contribution to the total liquid volume in your luggage!

Be open to newness

Vacations are the time for adventures, so take a chance to try something new. Maybe there is a product or brand that you have wanted to test since forever, so purchase a trial kit or go shopping in your holiday destination to discover local products that will also remind you about beautiful days of travel when you are back home.
Note: while being exploratory, check the composition to make sure you are not allergic to certain ingredients and your skin can tolerate them.
