Dubai Insiders: Fathima Mehreen On Style, Food, And the City

27 Oct 2025

We continue our journey through the many layers of Dubai’s fast-paced life with our new podcast, Dubai Insiders. This time, we meet Fathima Mehreen — Head of Creative at the local social media agency Seamlify and a photographer, who moved to Dubai in 2021. But there is more to her story: she is also a content creator, part of the fast-growing world that has been sparking plenty of discussion lately, especially around how influencers are shaping the market.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. What is waiting in this episode? Let’s find out.

Before we dive into the details, there is one thing you should know — Fathima came well-prepared, arriving with a long list of her favourite food spots, go-to DJs and music collectives, plus a full rundown of the neighbourhoods she has lived in (and loved!).

Here are four things to discover in our podcast with Fathima:

  • Her journey to Dubai and the lessons she has learned along the way. It wasn’t the easiest chapter, but one life hack she swears by is finding friends who live nearby — people who believe in you and can give you that extra push. And her golden rule? Whatever new thing you start, give it six months before making any big decisions.
  • Fathima’s favourite food spots. While she mentioned plenty of places to suit different moods, we would call her a true expert when it comes to Indian food. For dining out, she recommends Tandoortina and Karak House Restaurant, while Salkara is her go-to for ordering in. Ramen comes a close second — her top spots are Daikan Ramen and YUi Ramen House.
  • Her favourite local stylist. Fathima’s creative eye shows in everything — even the outfit she wore to the recording. Of course, we couldn’t skip the question about who her go-to stylist is. The answer came fast: Shivany — the one who can make anything work, from a sharp blazer to bold, off-beat jewelry, and somehow keep it cool.
  • And finally, her view on influencing. Should it really count as a full-time job? And should creators be paid for what they do? It is a topic that is very much in the air right now — and Fathima shares her honest thoughts on why it matters.
