Crowd Test is more than just a party — it is the grand launch of Sandy Times Radio (STR, jot that down). Think of STR as a 24/7 treasure trove of local music mixed with the best global trends, served up in a carefully curated, niche way. To celebrate a platform that discovers music leaving all algorithms predictions far behind, we are inviting you to our festival. Sooo...
Save the date: November 16, 2024, from 5 pm to 3 am, at Monkey Bar, Dubai. And don't forget to buy tickets.
Still need convincing? Here are five reasons why this event is unmissable.
Reason #1: Location
Monkey Bar, one of Dubai’s finest, is not just a bar; it is an experience. With stunning rooftop views of the Museum of The Future, you can enjoy your craft cocktail while contemplating your own future as an art connoisseur. The Latin American-inspired food menu will perfectly complement the drinks, and while you are waiting for Crowd Test to come there is a rumour of a surprise from 25hours Hotel One Central. Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates, because you are going to want in on this.
Reason #2: Lineup
Fancy, arty, and effortlessly cool. We have gathered a stellar group of artists, each one ready to bring their unique flavour to the festival:
— Eden Burns
This New Zealand DJ fuses house and disco like a mad scientist with decks, making his sets as unpredictable as they are fun.
— Mainline Magic Orchestra
A Barcelona-based collective that is equal parts music, fashion, and performance art, they take the stage in eccentric costumes, blending house music with an absurdist flair.
— Kito Jempere
World-renowned DJ and producer with over two decades of musical exploration, from punk to disco, Kito Jempere has recently dropped his fifth album. Now, he is bringing his talents to Sandy Times Radio, pushing musical boundaries and helping to build a vibrant community within the UAE’s music scene.
— Bazzzuk
You have probably seen her behind the decks at Analog Room Parties or Dancewerk. Suzanna, better known as Bazzzuk, is a DJ who somehow blends raw energy with refined style. How is that even possible? You will have to check for yourself.
— Hani J
Hani J spins his effortlessly cool sets at Gallery and Boogie Box, bringing his refined style to dance floors both near and far. And on November 16, he will dig deep into the eclectic corners of electronic music for Crowd Test — because mainstream is just too easy.
— Hassan Alwan
The man who made Abu Dhabi cool, one Boogie Box party at a time — and now he is closing the chapter, so you had better not miss this.
And more... See the full lineup here.
Reason #3: The Art Lab by CIFRA
Hosted in ROOM #3, the Art Lab is a collaboration with CIFRA, a digital art streaming platform connecting artists, curators, and enthusiasts from across the globe. This is where the worlds of music and art will collide in a mind-blowing audio-visual live show:
— Amir B. Ash & Safeya Alblooshi
A dynamic duo bringing a special performance that blends Amir’s deep house, techno, and experimental beats with Safeya’s expertise in visual and performance art. This one-off collaboration is tailor-made for Crowd Test.
— After 12 Collective
An Oman-based group of boundary-breaking artists and musicians, known for their genre-free, improvisational approach to electronic music. Every set is unique, built in the moment, offering a raw and spontaneous experience.
Reason #4: Public Talk
We are teaming up with THE KARAK, a project that has made a name for itself by putting Dubai’s creatives in the spotlight. Hosted by Faizal Razak, co-founder of THE KARAK, the talk will focus on “Creativity and Community”, the perfect theme for this festival. Expect engaging conversations with local artists, designers, and brands, all exploring how creativity thrives when supported by a strong, connected community.
Reason #5: Community
At the end of the day, this is what it is really all about. When we created The Sandy Times, we wanted to build a community, and now we are bringing it to life — in person, offline, with 1600 creative minds ready to connect, celebrate, and collaborate. This is your chance to meet old friends, make new ones, and become part of something truly special.
