DIFC Art Nights: A Sneak Peek Into the Event

6 Mar 2024

If you thought that all art events are overafter Art Dubai and Alserkal Art Week, you are officially wrong, as this week DIFC steps into the spotlights and transforms into a real open-air art gallery for the 17th edition of DIFC Art Nights. You can enjoy it on March 7 and 8.

Exhibitors

During the 17th edition of DIFC Art Nights, you will have a chance to explore both local and international artists. You can anticipate encountering various mediums such as visual arts, painting, sculpture, photography, design, murals, and even film. And more! Featuring "FLTRD Pop up", Art Nights will also exhibit a curated selection of fashion brands.
Okay, so the participants' list appears to be under the “top secret” mark, as there is very little information on that, but we have dug deep enough to tell you who will be there! Expect to see artworks by Rabab Al Tantawy, founder of Studio 13 and a lovely colourful style. Salim Al Kaabi, the eco-advocate and the inventor of "Lubanium" — a varnish that protects the health of artists and their art. And some younger emerging artists will be exposed at the event.

Art Talks

Furthermore, if you are into educating your toosh a bit — visit their Art Talks. On March 7, enjoy the talks by Christie's, where Meagan Kelly Horsman, Managing Director for Christie’s Middle East and North Africa, will provide valuable insights on art acquisition and legacy planning for the next generation. And Istituto Marangoni, where you can dive into the bright world of Frieda Kahlo. And on International Women’s Day, the 8th (just in case you didn't know), there will be some sort of open discussion about female artists and their place in art history, featuring many cool speakers like Alejandra Castro Rioseco (Founder of MIA Art Philanthropic Foundation to support women artists) and Maya Alison (Founder, Executive Director and Chief Curator, The Art Gallery at NYU Abu Dhabi). So, if you have anything to say — this is your main character moment.
First, we were fully absorbed in art because of the previous massive art events. Now, with DIFC Art Night on the horizon, it seems like there is no escaping the art scene. It also looks like there will be a lot to see at DIFC. So, why not block out your evenings this week and see what it is all about in person?
