Your Week In Dubai: What To Do, March 24–30

It is raining in Dubai, which doesn’t happen often, and always shifts the rhythm of the city a little. So first things first: take it slow, be careful on the roads, give yourself extra time, and don’t rush. The week ahead isn’t going anywhere.

So, what is happening this week?

An exhibition that unfolds one work at a time. Spaces shaped around community and subculture. Conversations grounded in uncertainty, reflection, and the need to come together. Skate sessions at a new spot worth checking out, and more.

Tuesday, March 24. Move Pause Return

Where? Gallery Isabelle

Instead of marking its 20th anniversary with a single opening, Gallery Isabelle stretches the moment into something slower and more deliberate. One artwork, each day.

Starting March 23, the exhibition builds gradually — revealing itself both in the gallery and online. Every piece is paired with a short note by writers, curators, and practitioners from across the region, offering different ways into the work.

By April 11, it all converges: artists, artworks, and the community come together.

Thursday, March 26. Gooder Skateboarding

Where? WH08, Alserkal Avenue

Now open in WH08 at Alserkal Avenue — worth stopping by, even if you don’t skate. First and foremost, a skatepark (free to ride), but not only — it also works as a community space shaped around skate culture, with a café, pizza, and more.

Created by Maysam Faraj and Ali El Ali — names you probably already know, deeply connected to the regional skate scene and long involved in building communities and pushing it forward across the Middle East.

Friday, March 27. Zuhr at Bayt AlMamzar

Where? Bayt AlMamzar

Zuhr — the moment in the day when shadows converge — turns into an evening for slowing down, seeing the work, and sharing space.

This Friday, Bayt AlMamzar invites you from 18:00 to 22:00 for an evening of art, conversation, and quiet convergence.

Zuhr is an artist-led showcase and open studio, co-hosted by Bayt AlMamzar’s current Artist-in-Residence, Zoya Singh and Inès Boubakri Haddad — bringing together practices, perspectives, and people in one shared space.

Saturday, March 28. Make It Make Sense

Where? Hobb

If you have been overthinking your work lately — questioning your direction or what you are doing at all — Make It Make Sense might be worth your time.

Framed as an open conversation, the event brings together designers to navigate uncertainty — less about clear answers, more about reflecting, sharing, and figuring things out in the presence of others.

Taking place at 4:00 pm at Hobb, a design and visual culture bookshop.

Sunday, March 29. Mother’s Day Pop-Up by KLO

Where? Birdies

KLO (Chloe Barakat) puts together a pop-up at Birdies — somewhere between a casual hangout and a small gathering of people, things, and conversations you don’t plan in advance.

A few names in the mix: Masa Haikal with her caps (Hattitude), Moon Cactus running a charm bar, and Ali Chaaban bringing a selection of pre-loved pieces.

Drop in with your mom — the whole thing is built around Mother’s Day.

Running from 4 to 7 pm.

Monday, March 30. Nothing to do

Let the week settle before it starts again.
