Your Week In Dubai: What To Do, March 31–April 6

A lot is happening in Dubai this week. New openings, early morning runs, nights built around music, and exhibitions worth slowing down for — a mix that covers pretty much every mood. Some plans get you out early, others keep you out late, and a few are just there when you feel like taking things a bit slower.

Enough going on to keep the week interesting — without feeling like you have to do it all.

Tuesday, March 31. The Task of the Mythologist

Where? Carbon 12

Last chance (until April 4) to catch this one before it closes.

A solo show by Anahita Razmi, an artist known for working across video, installation, and objects, often rethinking existing images and cultural symbols.

In this exhibition, she takes familiar symbols — from emojis to pop culture references — and shifts their meaning depending on context. It is really about how we read images today, and how those meanings are shaped by culture, politics, and where we encounter them.

The works feel recognisable at first, but slightly off — like something has been rearranged. And that is the point: to take what we think we understand and look at it again, a bit more closely.

Wednesday, April 1. Wednesday intervals

Where? Bikeera Café

An early morning interval session (starts at 6 am) with the Jumeirah Johns Running Club at Bikeera Café — the kind that wakes you up properly. Open to all levels, whether it is a proper run, a light jog, or just showing up for the atmosphere.

Also part of a bigger shift: Jumeirah and New Balance are building out their Local Legends runs — a series supporting the local community, with routes that move through neighbourhood spots and bring more attention to the places that shape it.

Thursday, April 2. New spot: Yesterday

Where? Avenue Mall — Nad Al Sheba

Yesterday calls itself a "listening pizzeria" — where music is just as important as what is on the plate. Expect a proper sound setup, a carefully picked soundtrack, and Neapolitan pizza done right.

It is only just opened, so still under the radar — the kind of place to check before everyone else does.

Friday, April 3. Kseni Ritz playing

Where? Monkey Bar

Friday feels like the right time to settle into some good music.

Kseni Ritz, a Dubai-based DJ, plays a mix of deep, tech, and minimal house — the kind that carries the night without trying too hard.

Saturday, April 4. Get Busy relaunch

Where? Panther Dubai

Back, but in a new setting.

Get Busy — known for its no-boundaries approach to sound — returns with a relaunch, now taking over Panther Dubai. Expect a mix that moves across genres and moods, without sticking to one lane for too long.

From 9 pm to 3 am — the kind of night that builds as it goes.

Sunday, April 5. Mulhaq

Where? Bayt AlMamzar

Bayt AlMamzar opens Mulhaq: On Annexed Architecture and Peripheral Typologies by Amer Madhoun — a project developed over several years as part of a long-term design residency.

The exhibition looks at the kinds of spaces we don’t usually think about — extensions, side structures, in-between areas — and how they shape everyday life across the Gulf. It is less about architecture in a formal sense and more about how people actually live within it.

Monday, April 6. Keep it light

Never overload a Monday. Nothing too ambitious — just focus on one thing and do it well.
