Your Week In Dubai: What To Do, October 20–25
Two chef collaborations in two nights might sound excessive, but this week makes a pretty convincing case for it. YUBI brings Reif Othman and Hadrien Villedieu together around the counter, while Sa’Cha and Salvaje swap kitchens for a Latin-Asian dinner built on years of shared influences. Then there is LPM’s new café, a stunning exhibition, an underground Saturday session with two Dubai selectors going back-to-back and, to finish, a room full of cookies at Alserkal Avenue. Here is what we are doing this week.
Tuesday, October 20. YUBI × Chez Wam
Where? YUBI, 25 Jump Street, One Central
YUBI is bringing together its chef Reif Othman and Chez Wam’s Hadrien Villedieu for a one-night-only collaboration this Tuesday.
It is a particularly fun pairing: YUBI is Reif’s Japanese handroll bar, built around food that arrives straight from chef to guest, while Hadrien’s cooking at Chez Wam tends to wander much more freely between cuisines and influences.
Details of the collaborative menu are being kept relatively quiet, which is probably part of the point. Reserve a seat, sit at the counter and see what the two come up with.
Wednesday, October 21. Sa’Cha × Salvaje: Amigos
Where? Sa’Cha by Pang, Dubai Creek Harbour
If you missed the first half of this collaboration at Salvaje on Tuesday, the chefs are switching kitchens for round two.
Nicolas Badran of Sa’Cha welcomes Koyi M. Tanabe of Salvaje to Dubai Creek Harbour for Amigos, a menu that makes a lot of sense once you know their backgrounds. Both chefs spent time cooking in Lima — Tanabe at Maido and Badran at Astrid y Gastón — and both now work somewhere between Latin American flavours and Asian technique.
The menu gets properly playful: tuna ceviche with bone marrow leche de tigre, foie gras aji de gallina gyoza, lobster anticucho, char siu picanha and slow-cooked wagyu short ribs with rendang sauce all make an appearance.
The same menu is served across both collaboration nights, but Wednesday is your chance to have it on Sa’Cha’s home turf.
Thursday, October 22. Fellow Travellers
Where? Tabari, DIFC
What happens to art when people, memories and entire visual languages move across borders? Fellow Travellers, curated by artist, author and cultural historian Omar Kholeif, brings together six artists whose lives and practices stretch across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. DIFC
The show includes Sonia Balassanian, Jai Chuhan, Luísa Correia Pereira, Lalitha Lajmi and Irene Scheinmann, alongside Kholeif’s own paintings — shown under their own name for the first time. Across paintings and works on paper, the exhibition looks at movement, diaspora, memory and the ways artistic ideas travel with people rather than staying tied to one place. Tabari
Some of the works are rarely seen, including pieces drawn from estates and private histories, which makes the show feel less like a neat survey and more like a set of lives and journeys crossing paths. It runs at Tabari through January 10, 2027.

Friday, October 23. Le Café LPM
Where? Across H by Huna, Jumeirah
Le Café LPM opens this Friday in Jumeirah as a more relaxed, all-day sibling to the restaurant we know from DIFC. It still looks to the South of France, but the idea is much more spontaneous — somewhere you can drop in for coffee and a tartine in the morning, stay for lunch or come back for steak frites and drinks at night.
Breakfast brings eggs and tartines; later, the menu moves through grilled octopus, tuna carpaccio, Steak Frites, Dover sole and LPM’s dark chocolate mousse. Pâtisserie also gets its own moment, and the café shifts into aperitivo as the day goes on.
It is open from 7:30 am until 12:30 am, so technically you have almost no excuse not to fit it in.
Saturday, October 24. Moist Paper Party
Where? Gulf Inn Hotel Al Nasr
Two familiar names from Dubai’s underground scene are going back-to-back this Saturday.
almo١٠٠ and Ju Lovett take over the decks together, with the latter one of the long-standing figures in the city’s underground electronic scene and a co-founder of Secta.
There are only 50 early entries at AED 50, after which entry goes up to AED 100, and RSVP is via DM.

Sunday, October 25. The Cookie Haul
Where? Gooder Skateboard Park, Alserkal Avenue
Cancel whatever sensible dessert plans you had. The Cookie Haul is back for its sixth edition, bringing local bakers and a frankly unnecessary number of cookies into one room at Gooder Skateboard Park.
The idea is wonderfully straightforward: walk around, meet the people making them, discover flavours you probably didn't intend to buy and leave with considerably more cookies than planned. Previous editions have brought together dozens of independent and home bakers, turning the whole thing into something between a bake sale, food market and very specific community gathering.
