Sale Hunters: Charms To Deck Out Your Bag

18 Feb 2025

I. Love. Decorating. My. Bags. All of them. Waist bags, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, backpacks — if it has a strap, it can be decorated. And yeah, sometimes I realise these bag chains might look a little extra — but honestly, who cares? Actually, scratch that — I firmly believe that a good bag chain can never look weird.
So, in the spirit of my obsession, I put together a list of some standout bag chains — bonus: a few of them are on sale right now. So, if you are into this, now is the time to grab one.
P.S. If you are ready to get lost in the world of bag charms, check out this article.

Your choice: ice cream or boat?

These charms aren’t here to elevate your bag — they are here to make you smile when you catch them in your peripheral vision. Maison Kitsuné’s ice cream charm looks like something you would find at the bottom of a kid’s toy chest in the best way possible. Charles Jeffrey Loverboy’s beanie keyring (on sale now — 50% off!) is exactly the kind of chaotic touch you would expect from a brand that worships DIY rebellion. And Jacquemus’ Le Porte Bateau keyring? A tiny, structured object that somehow makes even a set of keys feel curated. Plus, it is currently 50% off in the sale.

When you just want something colourful

This lineup is a love letter to statement-making, nostalgia, and those who enjoy aggressively reminding people what brand they are wearing. Bimba Y Lola’s logo charm is basically saying, “Look at me, I’m fun and self-aware.” Meanwhile, Amir Slama’s embellished bag chain (not on sale) is the perfect accessory for people who believe more is always more (and they are right). And then there is the flower-detail chain, which feels like something plucked straight from a ‘90s fashion archive — bold, decorative, and unapologetically playful.

Time to pull the puppet's strings?

Balmain’s brass mannequin keyring is basically a miniature fashion relic. You probably won’t use it to hold your keys (too much risk of scratches, let’s be honest), but it will sit on your bag like an artefact from some kind of chic dystopian future. It is the kind of thing that invites questions but never gives answers.

For those obsessed with foxes

If Maison Kitsuné were a person, they would be the one who tells you they “don’t believe in trends” while wearing the most calculatedly perfect outfit. Their fox charms (not on sale at the moment, but who knows — maybe soon?) — whether in classic, festive, or just-different-enough-to-make-you-buy-another form — aren’t loud, but they are recognisably Kitsuné. They are the kind of detail that gets noticed by people who actually care about fashion but wouldn’t dare say, "Nice charm!" out loud.

For those who just want to start with something

Etro’s bear charm brings a soft, nostalgic touch, like something you would find in an old-school toy shop but with a high-fashion twist. Jimmy Choo’s spheres charm is for those who appreciate a little structure — sleek, modern, and slightly mysterious in its polished simplicity. Maison Michel’s pearl design charm leans classic, the kind of piece that whispers elegance rather than shouts for attention.
