This February, New York Fashion Week kicked off the Fall/Winter 2025 season with a bang, showcasing a wave of fresh talent, bold statements, and reimagined classics. Our fashion contributor, Sana Bun, dove into the highlights and curated the collections that really stole the spotlight.
Calvin Klein Collection
Calvin Klein Collection’s return to the runway at New York Fashion Week was nothing short of unforgettable. It marked the brand’s first show since 2018 and the debut of Veronica Leoni as creative director, ushering in a new era with its first female leader. Leoni's vision was all about showing us what happens when a woman finally becomes the woman she has always wanted to be — poised, powerful, and unapologetically herself.
Leoni brought a fresh yet unmistakably familiar energy to the brand, refining Calvin Klein’s iconic minimalism with a sharp, modern edge. The collection struck the perfect balance between structure and ease, with clean lines, sophisticated tailoring, and that raw, effortless vibe we all crave. Drawing from her experience at Céline, Jil Sander, and The Row, Leoni seemed to effortlessly tap into the brand’s DNA while propelling it forward with a sense of calm confidence — basically, she nailed it.
Khaite
What if David Lynch reimagined a Merchant Ivory film? Khaite’s creative director, Cate Holstein, takes us on a journey to explore that very idea. Her FW25 collection — presented on an ochre-hued, circular runway inspired by The Wizard of Oz — brings Khaite’s signature style to new heights with rich textures, expert fabric manipulation, and bold contrasts, blending softness with structure and delicacy with daring. And just in case you missed the memo — leopard print is officially making its grand return!
Altuzarra
For Altuzarra, the upcoming fall-winter season is a study in contrasts — where softness and vulnerability intertwine with strength and sensuality, celebrating the wearer’s layered individuality. The fabrics chosen for the collection mirror this dynamic: sheer materials and delicate, feminine dresses are balanced by bold shoulders and structured silhouettes, painting a picture of a modern heroine who won’t be boxed in by convention. Joseph Altuzarra himself calls his creations ‘exquisite chaos’ — and honestly, it is the perfect phrase to describe the delicate equilibrium of elegance and edge he masterfully achieves.
Fforme
Another debut, and this time it is Frances Howie taking the reins as Fforme’s creative director — and what a confident success it was. Her FW25 collection seamlessly combines form and function, featuring rich textures, fluid draping, and sharp tailoring. It is minimalist, yet brimming with craftsmanship, blending sculptural elements with a laid-back, wearable feel. The collection really pulls you in, making you want to linger and discover every thoughtful detail.
Simkhai
Simkhai’s Fall 2025 collection has a bit of a love story at its heart — and it is all about vintage shopping. Inspired by a trip to the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Los Angeles, Jonathan Simkhai infused the collection with elements like distressed knits, well-worn leather jackets, and vintage brooches, blending nostalgic charm with a modern edge. The result? A perfect combination of the old and the new, with pieces that feel both timeless and refreshingly current.
Jane Wade
Jane Wade is taking office-core to new heights — imagine corporate culture turned into a full-on fashion performance. With The Merger, her FW25 collection, she dives into the theatre of work, from overworked interns to power-hungry CEOs, all dressed in an ultra-modern take on business attire.
Each piece reflects the constantly evolving workplace, where technology blurs the lines between online and offline, work and private life — while keeping a cheeky sense of humour with The Matrix references. It is corporate, but make it fashion.
