Ahmed Mater is a qualified physician who transitioned to become one of Saudi Arabia's most influential contemporary artists. He is a prominent figure in redefining the Kingdom's cultural landscape. At age 46, Mater has given decades to documenting and critically examining the realities of contemporary Saudi Arabia. His artistic practice spans painting, photography, sculpture, and installations, exploring collective memories of Saudi history from the oil boom to recent societal changes.

His ongoing exploration of Saudi Arabia's evolving identity has garnered increasing regional and international acclaim, as noted by Nour Kelani, Christie’s managing director in Saudi Arabia. Kelani specifically highlights Mater's Illumination series. This work ingeniously brings together traditional Islamic art and modern medicine — two subjects often treated as separate and full of tense contradictions. Further solidifying his influential position, Mater's recent large scale solo exhibition in China, "Ahmed Mater: Antenna," opened at UCCA Edge in Shanghai on March 7th and will run until June 8th. Layan's artistic journey began at a young age, sparked by a childhood fascination with drawing faces. Her initial frustration with achieving realism eventually led her to a crucial realisation.

Emerging from the art scene of Riyadh, Layan Mahmoud has carved a niche by embracing the unconventional and the unsettling. Unlike artists solely focused on traditional notions of beauty, Layan is drawn to the strange and eerie, believing that art's power lies in its ability to evoke discomfort and provoke deeper contemplation. This perspective positions her as a refreshing voice among young Saudi artists.

While her formal education at Effat University culminated in a bachelor's degree in product design, Layan's passion for visual creation and character development remained a driving force.

Even during her studies, she dedicated herself to self-teaching the art of visualising stories and sharing them through her illustrations. This dedication has blossomed into a practice where she crafts magical scenes on ordinary pictures, opening portals to new and imaginative realms. Her creative endeavours have also extended to collaborations, including a limited edition puzzle celebrating Saudi National Day and illustrations for a children’s book.

HRH Princess Reem Al-Faisal is a pioneering figure in Saudi Arabia's art and photography scene, earning global recognition for her distinctive artistic vision. As an artist deeply rooted in traditional values, she skillfully weaves these elements with a new perspective, offering a fresh view of the Kingdom's evolving cultural landscape. This ability to reconcile heritage with modernity positions her as a pivotal voice among those redefining contemporary Saudi expression.

Princess Reem's artistic philosophy delves into the often overlooked spiritual dimension that she believes finds its expression through beauty and creativity. In a modern society frequently focused on the tangible, she strives to embody this spiritual essence in her photography and share it with the world.

According to her, photography is the quintessential modern artistic expression which uniquely captures the spirit of our time. This embrace of a modern medium to explore profound themes underscores her role in shaping a contemporary Saudi artistic identity that remains connected to deeper cultural and spiritual roots. 

Reem's work transcends documentation, providing an artistic exploration of Saudi Arabia's evolving identity in the 21st century.

Nujood Al-Otaibi, a freelance creative artist and designer, embodies the spirit of resilience and the power of art to transcend limitations. She nurtured her artistic talents from a young age with the encouragement of her artist father. Nujood's journey took a turn when a hearing disability, diagnosed at the age of five, deepened her appreciation for the visual world and intensified her passion for artistic expression. 

Embracing hearing aids, she found a powerful connection with hyperrealism during her Bachelor of Fine Arts studies in Digital Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Yet, she actively explores diverse painting styles, demonstrating a constant evolution in her creative horizons.

As a Saudi artist navigating a world often dominated by sound, her art poignantly reflects themes of social isolation and the unique perspectives gained through her disability. In her self-reflective pieces, viewers encounter strange, dreamlike worlds populated with evocative details such as repeatedly written words, darkened windows, and distorted architectural elements.

A notable work at ATHR Gallery featured a hollow pink headscarf enveloping a deep blue void, with her ear depicted in various objects, powerfully hinting at the sensory differences she experiences.

In 2023, she became the first artist in residence for McLaren F1's Driven by Change. She designed the livery for the F1 cars, highlighting her talent and message of inclusivity.
