There is no denying that skateboarding is so much more than just a sport. It has always been a movement with its own underground aesthetic and set of rules, shaping its own take on fashion long before anyone in the mainstream caught on. In skate culture, style is practical — hoodies and loose pants because you need to move, denim that gets better the more it is scuffed up, tees that show what you are into, sneakers built to survive a beating. But it is also about attitude, independence, and a sense of belonging to a community that speaks its own language.
Sometimes, skaters look like they just threw something on at random — and that is exactly the point. There is a certain effortlessness in the way it all comes together, a look that is both unplanned and completely intentional.
What is funny is how this style — once basically a secret code for skaters — has made its way into everyday fashion. Even people who have never touched a board want in, just because it looks that cool.
We did a little research into what skaters actually choose to wear — so here is what we found.
Life Of Abraham, Good Faith, Precious Trust
Where to find the best tees (and more)
First up, Precious Trust.
Precious Trust was founded by Wathek Allal, who grew up sketching and tagging the streets of Damascus before taking up skateboarding with friends in Dubai. So when it comes to skate and street culture, he knows the real thing. The pieces from Precious Trust always stand out.
Next, Shabab Intl. Created by Iraqi photographer and creative Cheb Moha, the brand recently made its US debut. The designs mix clean lines with a thoughtful streetwear sensibility — timeless, but still very now.
And then there is Life Of Abraham. If you haven’t seen their tees yet, you are missing out. Each one carries a story, with threads tracing real-life moments and memories.
Don’t sleep on Good Faith either — a label rooted in the streets of the UAE. Their shirts have a distinct energy that feels homegrown and honest.
Where to go for pants
You’ll find good options at all the brands above, but there is one more you should know about: PANTALON.
This brand is built on pure obsession — with art, skateboarding, fashion, and, yes, pants. The founders just wanted to create something special, crafted with real care and a sharp eye for detail. These aren’t your basic skate track pants — they are pieces you want to show off.
Where to find the best hoodies
Again, all of the brands above are solid choices. But for a real selection, head to Amongst Few. We know, you saw that coming — no list is complete without them. Amongst Few is one of the region’s most respected streetwear names, and their in-house hoodies tend to sell out fast. That says something.
And for boards?
Simple: Habibi Skate Shop.
