14 Jul 2025
We have all been there — casually saying, "Oh, there is that art show I wanted to see,” or "We need to try that pizza everyone is talking about," only to find ourselves halfway through the week with no real plan… and having missed everything we actually wanted to do.
That is exactly why this weekly guide exists — to help you keep track of what is worth checking out and serve as your go-to diary (at least for the days that catch your eye).
Below are the best things to do in Dubai this week — and trust me, there is still plenty going on.
Tuesday, July 15. The mix of art and food
My personal lifehack for a great evening? Mixing emotions. Just food or just art won’t do — it has to be the perfect blend of both. So, here is your Tuesday plan.
Start with the "From Fragments to Coherence" exhibition at Sevil Dolmacı Gallery. It has been running for a while in Dubai — and now we have reached its final day. And yes, it is absolutely worth catching before it is gone.
This is one of those shows where art takes on big themes — politics, demographics, gender roles — but does it in such a poetic, gentle way that even those coming just for the visuals will be drawn in. At its heart, the exhibition explores the idea of fragments and wholeness. And how does each artist explore that theme? All differently, actually.
Some, like Cristiana de Marchi and Deniz Özuygur, lean toward geographic stories, national borders, and domestic narratives. Others dive into more ephemeral ideas — vulnerability, emotional healing, memory, and hope. Overall, 13 artists — definitely worth seeing!
And then — wrap things up with something delicious (and well-deserved). The best part? You don’t even have to go far — there are some great spots just around the corner.
- Want to try one of best ramens in Dubai? Go to YUi Ramen House (my current favourite is Yuzu Shio Wagyu Ramen).
- Looking for somthing sweet but still healthy? Bageri Form has you covered — their new summer apricot granola bowl is unreal.
- In the the mood for something Italian? Drive to GUSTO in DIFC. The interior makes you feel like you have been dropped into the centre of Rome — and their lasagna and tagliolini al tartufo are just perfect.

Wednesday, July 16. A dance you have always wanted to try!
On Wednesday, we are sticking to the same principle — mixing different emotions in one day! If one part is about good food, the other should be something active, lively… something like that dance you have always wanted to try. Salsa, maybe?
And the best part? Here you don’t even need to change venues — it all happens in one place: Above Eleven, the Peruvian-Japanese rooftop restaurant known for its incredible sushi, sashimi and ceviche.
Here is the plan: show up around 8 pm, kick off your evening with a light dinner to set the mood — and then… wait for it. At 9:30 pm, things really get going: the Latin beats you love, professional teachers guiding you through every step, and dancing under the stars.

Thursday, July 17. Your perfect wellness routine
A couple of days ago, you were out strolling, eating well, maybe even dancing till late — so Thursday calls for something slower, quieter, and maybe a little healing. Two options here:
- If you are in a healing mood but still feel like going out, your go-to spot is the TODA hosting its signature Sound Healing 360°. Yes, yes — that proper sound healing with crystal bowls, chimes, gongs, and (of course!) voice. And speaking of voice — this week, the session is led by Ozgul Tanriover, a Holistic Wellness Coach and Yoga Teacher with over 15 years of experience. So no, it isn't just some random "breathe in, breathe out" thing — it is immersive, guided, and deeply professional.
- If your idea of healing looks more like staying in and reconnecting with yourself, then journaling might be your thing. With the beautiful new journal just released by Rhea Jacobs, you get the chance to slow down and ask yourself the big questions — "Why am I here?" and "What is my purpose?" Set the scene, find your quiet space, and get ready to dive deep into you.
Friday, July 18. Movie time
What is Friday for you? For me — it is all about the perfect movie night — whether it is something warm and fun, or something that grips your nerves and keeps you on edge until the very last minute...
And here is the good news — Cinema Akil has just launched its Summer of Classics festival. That means all your favourites — the ones we love and keep rewatching — are back on the big screen until the end of the month.
So, what is playing this Friday?
- Before Sunrise at 7 pm — Perfect if you are in a poetic, minimalistic mood and want to dive into a slow, beautiful love story. Bonus: dreamy Vienna on screen.
- The Phantom of the Opera at 9:15 pm — Great if you are in the mood to tickle your nerves a little, but still want something iconic and theatrical. Bonus: the legendary Lon Chaney in the lead role.
Saturday, July 19. Matcha and community
Saturday is the kind of day best started in a leafy café, with lovely conversations and a good coffee (or matcha!). And this Saturday, Paus is exactly that place. Not just because of their perfect wellness breakfasts and every kind of coffee (my favourite is the tiramisu latte!) — but because of the community that gathers around it.
This Saturday, it is all about psychology-based group sessions — both starting at 11 am, so your only job is to arrive a bit early and choose the one that resonates with you most:
- Matcha Morning: How can we move from comparison to connection?
Get ready to dive deep into feelings of envy and admiration — all with the guidance of a professional moderator.
- "Too foreign for home, too brown for here": Are we always performing?
If you have ever felt "too much" or "not enough," or found yourself questioning who you are or where you belong — this session is for you.
Sunday, July 20. For all Italian souls
Sunday is made for great dough, loads of tomato salsa, and plenty of cheese. It should come with a coca-cola in your hand and a great group of people by your side.
Yes, you got it — it is all about our Italian souls: pizza and pasta!
Where to go?
- In Jumeirah, head to Sagra for something hands-on.
Over the course of two hours, you will learn how to make the dough, pick the perfect sauce, and craft your very own Pasta Italiana. And yes — it all ends with a delicious tasting session.
- In JVC, we meet at HIVE!
In collaboration with Franky’s Pizzeria, HIVE is hosting a Sunday evening filled with good vibes and endless pizza. A proper community get-together — the way Sundays are meant to be. Bonus: entry is free for HIVE residents.
Monday, July 21. Time to breath out
Every week needs a day off — a chance to breathe, stay home, and just scroll through social media. (Sure, maybe not the most meaningful activity, but it is a guilty pleasure we all deserve at least once a week.)
The plan? No plan.
