Your Week In Dubai: What To Do, October 14–20

13 Oct 2025

Photo: Moist Paper Party x Analog The Room

Art exhibitions, screenings, new installations, and a morning hike to clear your head before it all starts again. Arzé hits the screen at Cinema Akil, Wadi Abadilah is calling for an early reset, and over at Alserkal, vinyl heads are gearing up for another night of pure analogue sound.

And then — just when it feels like the city has done enough — Moist Paper Party is finally back. Yes, in the pool. We know you have been waiting for it.

Tuesday, October 14. Have the best sandwich ever

Where? Rascals Deli and Ronnie’s Cafe

For all Caesar salad lovers: Rascals Deli and SMITHS SNACKS have just launched their insane Special Caesar Bagel. These guys have never let anyone down, so let’s go try it during the day — while they still have it!

Wednesday, October 15. Arzé

Where? Cinema Akil

At 7 PM at Cinema Akil, catch Arzé, a Beirut-set drama-comedy following a single mother and her son on a wild ride across the city after their scooter gets stolen. What starts as a chase turns into a sharp, emotional journey through class, identity, and survival — with that mix of chaos and heart only Beirut can deliver.

Thursday, October 16. Personal Sea: Mahmoud El Safadi

Where? Gallery Isabelle, Warehouse 17, Alserkal Avenue

Personal Sea is a new series of miniature paintings on playing cards by Mahmoud El Safadi, reflecting on the Mediterranean as a space of memory and inheritance — fluid yet controlled, communal yet divided.

Referencing quatorze, a card game taught to him by his grandfather, El Safadi layers imagery across the cards to form a visual palimpsest where personal and inherited memories merge with histories of struggle, surveillance, and belonging.

At its heart lies a quiet doubling: artist and grandfather share the same name. Serving under the British flag in the Eastern Mediterranean between 1939 and 1946, his grandfather’s silence becomes a void the artist reimagines through archival research and speculative painting.

Friday, October 17. Diwali by Design

Where? Kinara by Vikas Khanna

Celebrate Diwali in style as Kinara by Vikas Khanna at JA Lake View Hotel transforms into a sea of lights for Diwali by Design, a special culinary collaboration with Parisian chocolatier Forrey & Galland.

Each evening offers a new surprise — themed sweets, handcrafted chocolates, and festive décor of marigolds and shimmering lamps.

Saturday, October 18. Two events

Where? Wadi Abadilah

The Hike & Co., one of the UAE’s top licensed outdoor adventure groups, is rolling out its October Hikes: Drop 2, a new set of guided trails made to bring people closer to nature and each other.

This Sunday at 7 AM, join a community favourite — Wadi Abadilah (4 hrs | 7 km | Elevation Gain: 258 m). Think lush valleys, gentle climbs, and that crisp morning air that clears your head and sets the tone for the week. The ideal way to start Sunday: easy, calm, and completely outdoors.

Monday, October 20. As usual

Nothing. The whole week is ahead — and Mondays are heavy enough as they are
