Recently, we spoke with Jyotsna Sunil, PR by day and plus-size influencer by night, as she calls herself (actually, this is true!). In our conversation, we found out how hard it can be for plus-size individuals to find stylish clothes. That said, there is a growing trend for creating beautiful plus-size clothing, and some brands are really stepping up.
Jyotsna Sunil: “Even brands that offer plus-size clothing often provide unappealing options. It feels like they expect us to be happy with clothes that look like tablecloths. I love showing my skin and wearing stylish outfits, and I often have to buy the largest size in regular sections just to get something that fits. Fast fashion brands, which are more likely to cater to my size, often force us to choose between style and fit, which isn't ideal.”
With Jyotsna’s help, we’ve put together a list of brands that are changing the game for plus-size fashion.
Bye Bambi
Founded by Andi Short in 2018, Bye Bambi is a Melbourne-based fashion label that embodies the essence of sustainable, chic fashion. Known for its unique designs, Bye Bambi stands out with a philosophy centred around creating aspirational clothing for individuals who embrace freedom and reject judgment.
By.Wuzzy
By.Wuzzy is an eco-conscious fashion brand that focuses on upcycling and reworking denim, particularly vintage Levi's, to create unique, bespoke garments and accessories. Founded in 2020 by Wuzzy Omiyale, the brand is based in London and emphasises sustainability, aiming to reduce fabric waste by transforming discarded clothing into timeless pieces. By.Wuzzy’s mission includes using innovative textile solutions and promoting sustainable fashion practices.
Never Fully Dressed
First, visit the website and pay attention to the cursor: it is in the shape of a leopard!
Second, let's talk about the brand itself. Never Fully Dressed (NFD), founded in 2009 by Lucy Aylen, is more than a fashion brand — it is a community aimed at empowering and celebrating women of all shapes and sizes. What began as a small market stall selling handmade pieces has grown into a brand known for its vibrant prints, inclusive sizing (ranging from UK 6-28, US 2-24 with some items extending to a UK 30 (US 26)), and positive messaging. Inspired by her family’s roots in fashion and market trading, Aylen has crafted a brand that embraces diversity, body positivity, and self-expression.
At the core of NFD’s ethos is their "mantra": “We make clothes to make you feel amazing. Life is tough, but so are you. If you get out of the wrong side of bed, choose colour.” Never Fully Dressed aims to make every woman feel seen and empowered, all while promoting the idea that “Clothes are like a film or music; they carry the power to change how we feel” — a message that resonates deeply with its inclusive and body-positive audience.
Imad Eduso
Founded in Lagos in 2017 by self-taught designer Dami Olukoya, Imad Eduso embraces the beauty of simplicity with a hint of the unexpected. The brand has dressed renowned figures like Lupita Nyong'o and Chimamanda Adichie, earning international recognition. Imad Eduso’s aesthetic effortlessly blends timeless elegance with modern flair, making it ideal for brides who want to make a statement without overwhelming details.
ASOS

American Eagle
You know this one, too: American Eagle is a super popular lifestyle brand from the U.S. known for its laid-back vibe and trendy clothing. They are famous for offering something for everyone, but most of all — they are all about high-quality denim. The brand is big on inclusivity, with a variety of sizes to fit all body types, making sure everyone feels great in their clothes.
PLT
PrettyLittleThing is all about inclusivity, and the #EveryBODYinPLT movement is a celebration of body positivity, embracing everyone — no matter their shape, size, or style.
