When I think of my favourite fashion shows, Chanel Fall-Winter 2014/2015 is one of the first to come to mind. The Grand Palais in Paris was transformed into a huge supermarket, perfectly capturing the collection’s casual vibe and quirky details. Diving deeper into luxury archives, it is hard to overlook Hermes, but this time, I am stepping aside from the classic Birkins and Kellys to their more unconventional incarnations.
Take the Kelly Sport PM shoulder bag from the early 2000s or the Banana Kelly clutch from 1991 — both showcase the same recognisable details but with a unique twist. As for Birkin, the Shoulder one, introduced in 2004 by Jean-Paul Gaultier and recently revived in the Fall-Winter 2024 collection, is another fresh twist on a timeless silhouette.
