5 May 2024
Tonight, all Dubai residents will have a great opportunity to have the most immersive music experience possible at MICRO MUTEK.AE Edition 3 — the ultimate blend of electronic music and digital arts.
Presented in partnership with Dubai Economy & Tourism (DET), this exciting festival lights up Alserkal Avenue on the 4th and 5th of May. Tonight, there will be a crown jewel of the whole festival.
What is going on?
It is hard to describe, but this is definitely a legendary experience. With over 30 artists and 22 performances, MICRO MUTEK.AE offers something for everyone.
There are five main parts: Play, Nocturne, Digi Lab, Dome Live, and Dome Screenings. Here, you can find various electronic music performances and sets accompanied by fantasy-like digital art installations.
Plus, during the daytime, you can enjoy panel talks and learn more about “Capacity building in creative economy with artists” at Warehouse46 from 4 pm to 5 pm today.
Highlights
The Play Series at The Fridge Warehouse (located right near the Nostalgia car workshop and Alserkal’s HQ) offers intimate audio-visual performances from artists like 9T Antiope (at 8 pm) and P Kirn (at 7 pm).
At Nocturne in Concrete (the one behind the huge white ball; you will get it when you are there), enjoy late-night electronic music by the centrepieces of today’s lineup — 404.zero (at 9 pm) and Satoshi Tomiie x Kuniyuki Takahashi, together with stunning visuals by Manami Sakamoto at 11 pm.
Dome Live at Hemisphere 141 (that is the huge white ball) brings 360-degree audio-visual experiences called Dome Screenings featuring Sébastien Labrunie's artwork "The Twisted Tree" together with 404.zero at 5 pm. Dome Live performances will cover Erika Tsuchiya’s immersive visuals in collaboration with Josh Rodenberg's sound at 7 pm and more.
Digi Lab, located at Warehouse46, is where you can learn from industry pros through talks and workshops, covering everything from music creation to visual tools. This is where the panel talks will be. It is worth noting here that this is the same space where you will have a chance to grab the ticket on the spot if you don’t have one yet.
Tickets = NFTs
The trademark of the 2024 edition is that tickets come with a special twist!
Each ticket includes unique digital artwork, so an NFT. Once you are here digitally or at Warehouse46 physically, you will get a chance to scan a special QR code (ask anyone at the counter for it). This QR code will turn your ticket into an actual piece of the large digital mosaic artwork, which will be auctioned for charity after the festival.
So, you cannot only enjoy great music and visuals but also contribute to one! Just remember to sign in at Blocklive.
Last but not least, for tickets and information, visit dubai.mutek.org/en/tickets. We will see you at this one-of-a-kind rave tonight!
