Still Obsessed With Harry Potter? These Sneakers Are For You

24 Apr 2025

I used to wait for the letter. THE letter. Owl post, hand-addressed, sealed with wax, and carrying the promise of escape from maths homework and into magical mayhem. I read the books until the covers fell off. I went on a first date to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I surely have duelled with a stick in the garden.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and here I am — nearly 30, still tragically un-magical, and dealing with muggle responsibilities like paying checks and scheduling Zoom calls. Meanwhile, Gen Z cancelled JK faster than you can say Expelliarmus, and my cousin (who I am told is part of Generation Alpha) has never even seen the films. The audacity.
And yet, in a turn of events that will surprise no one, I found myself unreasonably excited by the new PUMA x Harry Potter drop in the GCC.
Now, let's get something clear. I am not one of those fans with an entire bedroom shrine to the Wizarding World. I do not own a single LEGO set. But I do have a soft spot for fashion + pop culture collabs. And this collection? It has Quidditch in it. Actual Quidditch. Because if football gets three dozen sponsors, surely broomstick sports deserve at least one.

The magic of the collab

PUMA and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have brewed up something rather charming. Drawing from PUMA’s sporty roots, this collection brings Gryffindor and Slytherin to life through apparel, accessories, and of course — sneakers that even Dobby would be proud of.
And here is where things get serious: PUMA is concentrating on only Gryffindor and Slytherin. Which means it is time to make the choice. Are you with the golden bravehearts… or the cunning cool kids?
I, personally, stand with the ones in green. Always have. Always will. (Say what you like about ambition — at least we dress well.)
The T7 tracksuits and jerseys are Quidditch-ready (at least in spirit), while hoodies and tees feature spellbook-esque graphics and subtle golden snitches hidden throughout. Basically, it is wearable nostalgia — with decent stitching.
The PUMA Palermo gets a house pride makeover in Gryffindor scarlet and gold or Slytherin green and silver, complete with lace shrouds and embossed house mascots. And if you are more of a “four houses, one sole” kind of fan, the Easy Rider sneakers nod to all the houses with subtle colour touches.
A waist bag and cap round off the collection with robe-inspired style, for when you want to be low-key magical at brunch.
Available online and at PUMA flagship stores across the GCC, this is the kind of drop that lets you embrace your inner wizard just enough — even without the permission to visit Hogsmeade.
