From Ramps to Raves — Dubai’s Coolest Run Lands On October 18

15 Oct 2025

If you have ever looked at a multi-storey car park and thought, that looks like a good place for a jog, then congratulations — your time has come.

New Balance and Jumeirah Johns Running Club (JJRC) are hosting LEVEL 7, a community-first vertical run that takes “up for a run” quite literally. The idea is simple: seven floors, one kilometre of ramps, and a healthy disregard for the concept of taking the lift.

Whether you are chasing a personal best or just chasing your mates, LEVEL 7 promises an evening where you can test your lungs, meet new people, and question your life choices halfway up the incline — all before heading to a party that may just undo your athletic progress.

Who are the Jumeirah Johns?

JJRC is the running club for people who like running — or at least, like the idea of it. Founded by Angus, Ryan, and Nathan in 2022, it began as a casual way to meet people, get some exercise, and enjoy Dubai in motion.

Today, it is a friendly crowd where no one cares about your pace, only your presence. You can sprint, stroll, or simply show up for the social bit. There is room for everyone — including those whose main sport is conversation.

What to expect at LEVEL 7

The format is refreshingly chaotic: heats of 25 runners, four advance each round, and eventually, two champions emerge at the top. The rest of us, meanwhile, will have earned a spectacular view and a newfound respect for gravity.

There will also be the chance to try New Balance’s latest shoes — because nothing says “new personal best” like testing fresh trainers on a ramp.

Winners take home an all-inclusive Doha Marathon 2026 race package and prizes from Oakley, Matter Nutrition and New Balance, but the real trophy might just be the bragging rights.

The party afterwards (obviously)

The climb may end at the top, but the night certainly doesn't. JJRC’s trademark social spirit takes over P7 Arena, complete with a DJ, refreshments, and a Community Wall to commemorate those who survived the stairs.

It is less about who won and more about who showed up — and possibly who danced the longest after.

The practical bit

  • Date: Saturday, October 18
  • Time: 7 pm onwards
  • Location: Media One Hotel Car Park

Spots are limited, and those ramps will not climb themselves. If it sounds like your sort of evening, lace up, sign up, and rise to the occasion.
