Your Workout Rotation Needs an Update: 6 New UAE Studios To Try
Group training is where your inner battery somehow recharges while you are actively draining it. You sweat, question your life choices around rep number twelve, and still walk out feeling twice as energised. Science probably has an explanation. We call it magic. And yes, there is the obvious bonus: getting stronger, building muscle and making that weekend beach look a solid 10/10.
But if you clicked, you probably don't need convincing. What you might need are a few new names to add to your rotation. Because, let's be fair, trying a new studio on a random Tuesday can be an energy boost of its own — even when absolutely nothing exciting is happening that week.
So, we looked at some of the newer boutique fitness spots across Dubai, with a particular focus on the kind of training we are into right now: strength, sculpt, barre, Lagree and conditioning — mostly in a group, often with a female focus, and definitely with a burn involved.
KORE THEORY
Location: The Commons, Mirdif
KORE THEORY is very much the new kid on the block — it only opened in September 2026. And while congratulations are technically in order for them, we feel like we deserve some too: Dubai has just gained a new studio with a workout for almost every mood you can cycle through in a week.
Start with Sculpt + Strength, which is probably the most straightforward of the bunch: weights, resistance and slow, controlled movements, with the emphasis on actually building strength rather than simply getting your heart rate up. Heated Sculpt takes a rather different route to the same shaky-leg ending, moving things onto the mat and into a heated room — because apparently sculpting at a normal temperature was getting too easy.
But the one that made me look twice is the Microformer. Instead of the full-size reformer that has become almost part of the furniture in Dubai fitness studios, you train on a compact platform that looks remarkably stripped-back in comparison. Same family, very different character — and probably the class to book if another row of identical reformer beds no longer does much for you.
Which, conveniently, describes KORE THEORY rather well. It is polished enough to make you want to take a mirror picture before class, and serious enough to make you considerably less interested in taking one afterwards.
BRRN BARRE, women-only studio
Location: Al Quoz, Dubai
Barre has always had slightly misleading PR. The name brings to mind ballet, graceful movements and perhaps the promise of leaving class feeling a little more elegant than when you walked in. BRRN BARRE clearly looked at that reputation and decided things could be considerably less comfortable.
The studio centres its training around heated barre, bringing the tiny, controlled movements barre is known for into a hot room — which means those innocent-looking pulses start feeling rather less innocent rather quickly. And the barre is only part of the equation. Weights and sculpt work come into the mix too, giving the classes more of a strength-training edge than you might expect from the format.
And if the name of the studio already sounds familiar, there is a reason. BRRN BARRE started out in Abu Dhabi, but Dubai only got its own outpost this spring, when the studio landed in Al Quoz. Which gives you a rather good new after-work ritual with your friends: meet at the barre, survive the shakes together, then find somewhere nearby for the post-workout debrief.
The Burn Room, women-only studio
Location: Avenue Mall, Nad AlSheba, Dubai
With a name like The Burn Room, you would be forgiven for expecting the fitness equivalent of punishment. And yes, there is plenty of burn involved — but the philosophy behind this Abu Dhabi studio is surprisingly less push until you drop and much more about knowing when to push and when to recover.
The training side brings together Lagree, Hot Pilates and Hot Yoga, so there are several ways to arrive at the shaking-leg stage. But what makes The Burn Room particularly interesting is what happens alongside all that intensity: red-light therapy is integrated into the studio environment itself , turning recovery into part of the experience rather than something you remember you should probably do the following day.
And it is a relatively new addition to the fitness scene too. Founded in Abu Dhabi in late 2025 by Emirati entrepreneurs Meerah Al Matrooshi and Alia Al Mazrouei, The Burn Room quickly found its crowd — enough for the founders to bring the concept to Dubai by mid-2026. Perhaps part of the appeal is that there is more to come for than just the workout: the space was designed for people to train, stay and socialise, bringing the now-familiar idea of a third place into fitness.
CLUBIST
Location: Marina Quays, Dubai Marina
CLUBIST has a slight identity problem — in the best possible way. Technically, it is one fitness club in Dubai Marina. In practice, it feels more like three very different studios decided to move in together and share an address.
There is The Dark Room for the days when you mean business: low lights, loud music and classes built around strength, running and HIIT. Lift & Load takes things heavier, focusing on progressive weights and proper technique. Then walk into The Megaformer Room and the mood changes completely, with Lagree taking over. And for something slower and more focused, The Mind & Body Room brings Pilates, barre and sculpt into a space heated by infrared panels to 32°C. Three rooms, three rather different definitions of a workout.
And if leaving class suddenly reminds you that your body might need some protein — quite a fair thought after Lift & Load — there is good news next door. CLUBIST’s sister concept, Thirtyfour, is there for the post-workout refuel and catch-up. Quite a nice new addition to Dubai Marina’s fitness crowd, if you ask us.
Round, women-only studio
Location: Umm Suqeim 2
If, after everything we have mentioned above, you are still looking for something that brings actual heavy weights into the mix, here is a very good addition to the list. There are no tiny weights pretending to be heavy here: this women-only studio is built around proper strength training, with barbells, squat racks, dumbbells and progressive overload all firmly part of the picture.
The concept divides that work into three rather self-explanatory worlds. BUILD is where the heavier lifting happens, SCULPT zooms in on individual muscle groups, while THRUST gives the glutes so much attention they get an entire zone. Think of it as mix and match in the best possible way — only here, the combinations are designed to eventually show up in the mirror.
And while ROUND may be a new name in Dubai, it didn’t start here. The concept first built its following in Aljada, Sharjah, before bringing its women-only formula to Umm Suqeim in 2026. So, if we have any Sharjah readers who have made it this far, good news: this is one recommendation you don’t need to leave your emirate for.
ARKHE
Location: Silverene Tower, Dubai Marina
You know those people whose weekly routine sounds like a small tour of Dubai? Strength here on Tuesday, Pilates somewhere else on Wednesday, recovery on Thursday — I get stressed just hearing about it. If you do too, ARKHE might be our answer: it has basically taken that entire schedule and put it under one roof.
The starting point is still proper training. There is a dedicated Strength Room, a performance floor for strength and conditioning, plus an outdoor HYROX Training Club for running, sled work and race-style training. And if you prefer someone else to tell you what to do, the group schedule runs from Strength and HYROX to Sculpt, yoga and Reformer Pilates. But ARKHE seems just as interested in what happens once the workout ends. Every membership comes with unlimited recovery, so cold plunges, infrared and traditional saunas, compression therapy, red light therapy and even a hyperbaric oxygen chamber can all become part of the same visit.
